ROC its time! before doing biz with the ROC I worked for other labels to but Roc-A-fella was home for me it was a family and
we still are a family its Roc 4 life ....... For me its time to move on. Hip-hop came from the
streets
so being on the streets everyday I got to here what the fans cry for when artist album came out
I get the good and the bad, when most record exec dont listen to there guys on the street thats when you see the
label fall off money get in the way and they never listen to those little guys who been really putting in that work (Hint
to record companys)
,most CEO 's never come back to the hood , but for me I want to always come back to the hood
so I can always here whats good, I always want to be able to
come to the hood and find whats hot thats what hip-hop is all about I learn everything about the music biz being
on the streets, Im not here to change the game but I want to break some ground
crack a hole in every body speakers!!!!!!
I was hooked on hip-hop when my mom took me to see
RUN DMC at the Fresh Fest back in the 80's, How I started, It all began
at the age of 13 I was putting groups together I would have people over my house recording on a
4 track and Casio Keyborad in a little bedroom at my moms house a 2-family flat we lived in, I worked for
free but atfer school I would cut hair in the basement to make money , I also working
as a bus boy at Larco's I knew in this business you don't start off making money so I was a huslter I did it
all, you name it I did it! I wanted to be apart of it,In my hood the guys with the doe had it going on so
I had to have money, My mother always said do something with your life be ah jack of all trades have something to
fall back on cause the music biz ant for everyone; she being a Dj back when
( Lady T) was her name I listen to what she would play at house party ,she'd play it all from the BG's
to Prince she rock the house so it came easy for me
I was in love with music, I learn how to play the keys in church by Mrs. King, as a Youth I had alot of people
around me who was into music so it was nothing for me to learn some of everything it wasnt til I got to be 16 I
went on a trip to New York and was hooked!!!!!!
Harlem, NYC was the 1st stop I love everything about it
coming from Detroit it was like home to me but had so much more, My mom didnt want no parts of me being there because
of the storys she'd had herd about people just dead laying in the streets but when I got there
I saw the music 125 street (the stage) I was all for it, I didnt want to come home"and Ive been coming back every
since............
